An extremely rare Qingbai glazed molded stoneware figurine of a dog. Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279).

Chinese Jianyao Song Bowl – Hare’s Fur

Rare Chinese Jianyao Bowl – Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279)
The bowl is covered inside with a lustrous blackish-brown glaze finely streaked with russet ‘hare’s fur’ markings flowing from the russet band below the rim.
Black tea bowls, in contrast to the celadon vessels of the earlier Tang dynasty, became fashionable and were made at a number of kilns in northern and southern China, including the Jian kilns of Fujian.

Fine Chinese Ding Ware Celadon Bowl – Northern Song Dynasty (960-1126)
Bowl of widely flared slightly conical form. It was a common practice of the potters at the Ding kilns in Hebei province to fire their bowls and dishes upside down in order to prevent warping of the thin walls. This method necessitated that the rims be wiped clean of glaze.
Provenance: from a dutch collector who bought it December 1974 at Sothebys Amsterdam / Mak van Waay.
